Pasta in a Frying Pan?

According to Harold McGee, the author of Keys to Good Cooking, we can speed up our pasta boiling by simply using our frying pan instead of that big pot of water. I’m not going to lie, I’m intrigued by this, but I’m thinking this would only work for smaller amounts of pasta, unless you had a really big frying pan. Nonetheless, this is a good idea!
